March was a busy month here at Aegis Support Services! We had a number of events, business developments, and partnerships throughout the month and it was great to be so active with others in the community!
Here’s what went on in March!
A New Aegis Training Centre Opened!
After a lot of hard work behind the scenes, we were finally able to open our newest Aegis Training Centre in Milton Keynes!
Due to popular demand, we wanted to extend our training services to give more people access to security, first aid, and health and safety training.
The new training centre provides approved courses for Door Supervisors, Security Guarding, and First Aid – all helping people to prepare or refresh their career in the security industry.
Tariq Supported The Peace Garden Initiative
The Peace Garden Initiative was created to bring the community together and support families who have lost loved ones due to the pandemic. This project gives people the opportunity to plant trees and to come together to remember those who are no longer with us.
There will be over 200 trees planted in Wigmore Park made up of orchard type trees and park type trees, allowing the legacies of those who passed away to live on.
Cllr Javeria Hussain, Chair of the Luton Rising social enterprise, said:
“Planting a tree for every life lost to Covid-19 is a lovely gesture of kindness to show the people that lost their lives to Covid-19 will never be forgotten their memory and legacy will live on through the contribution of planting a tree.”
We Sponsored And Attended The Community Interest Luton Launch Event
We love being a part of the Luton community, and the Community Awards that recognise many of the amazing people we have here who help to support others! This year, we’re presenting the Lifetime Achievement Award which we were able to discuss at the launch event – in particular how great it is to recognise those who put special effort into the support of others and their community!
Nominations for this award can be made here: Community Interest Luton
During the launch event, we were also able to talk about how we will assist with projects throughout the year, like Afternoon Tea Events to raise money for Lets Feed Luton and working with the council to deliver important training courses to young people in our community.
Nominations for the Community Awards 2023 are now open! Let us show off your heroes- nominate them today!

We Also Sponsored And Attended the IPSA Women in Security Conference on International Women’s Day!
This year we were able to be a part of the biggest International Women’s Day security event! The Women In Security event was the first ever collaborative industry event for IWD, where there were a number of incredible speakers who shared their inspirational stories.
We sponsored the event which was held at the Tate Modern and titled ‘Her Story’. From HR professionals to security personnel to female leaders within the security industry, we heard many great stories and insights throughout the day!
Only around 12% of frontline security personnel is female, however this number is slowly rising and we’re fully onboard to help see this trend continue!
Our Partnership with Discover Islam
In March, we also had the pleasure of partnering with Discover Islam Luton to help them raise money for the Luton Foodbank, Community Interest Luton, and other organisations who help to support the local community.
The charity event involved hiking Scafell Pike whilst fasting and during rough weather conditions – certainly not an easy one! Overall, we’re extremely proud to say that we were able to help raise £14,784!
Whether it’s supporting education in the community, helping those who are unable to afford their heating bills, supporting foodbanks, providing resources to vulnerable people, and much more, Discover Islam Luton play a hugely important role here in Luton!
Finally, We Sponsored And Attended The Challney High School for Girls Iftar Event
Challney High School for Girls put on an amazing event for ladies, where they were able to open their fast together. This year was the first time that event was run, and we were incredibly happy to be able to sponsor, support, and attend this beautiful day!
Throughout the event, there were brilliant speeches from the students and we were able to come together with many from the community to celebrate the beginning of Ramadan.
After a busy month, we’re so excited to see what the rest of the year holds! We can’t wait to continue supporting the community and being a part of the amazing growth that we see every year!
