Aegis Support Services secures three-year security services contract with Luton Sixth Form College

Aegis Support Services, the national security services and facilities management specialist, has announced it has secured a new three-year contract to provide security services at Luton Sixth Form College.

The contract was awarded following a rigorous competitive tender and procurement process, and is the first time the service has been put out to tender in seven years.

Luton Sixth Form College is the UK’s longest-established sixth form college, supporting more than 3,200 students aged 16 to 18. Founded in 1966, it provides a broad range of A Level and vocational courses and has built a strong reputation for academic achievement, inclusivity and preparing young people for university, apprenticeships and employment, and is a pillar of the local community.

The College has undergone a process of reevaluating its security requirements and has designed the new contract around further increasing and investing in its approach to student welfare, well-being and support.

Under the contract, Aegis Support Services will provide a range of security services to the College, aligned to its ‘Protect, Prevent and Pursue’ approach to making the College a safe and inclusive place. This includes deploying several guards to provide security around the campus grounds and across the site in Luton and several ‘inclusion officers’ who will be based inside the College to encourage positive behaviour and provide well-being and safety support.

All services will be delivered directly by Aegis Support Services to help to maintain a safe, inclusive, welcoming, and productive learning environment for students, staff and visitors.

Qadeer Qureshi, CEO of Aegis Support Services, commented: “We are delighted to have been awarded this contract and to continue our relationship with Luton Sixth Form College. Over the years, we have invested heavily in creating a specialist security services offering for the education sector, including developing and training our teams to provide specialist behavioural management and inclusion officers across a range of education environments. Being awarded this contract reflects our experience within the education sector and our commitment and ability to deliver professional security services to support positive student engagement and pastoral support.”

Altaf Hussain, principal @ CEO at Luton Sixth Form College, added: “Creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for our students and staff is an absolute priority for the College. Our approach to security goes beyond simply protecting our site; it is about ensuring our students feel safe, supported and able to thrive throughout their time with us. As part of this new contract, we have taken the opportunity to strengthen our approach through our Protect, Prevent and Pursue model, bringing together visible campus security with proactive engagement, early intervention and student support. Aegis Support Services demonstrated a strong understanding of our College community and our ambitions for this service. We look forward to building on our partnership over the next five years and continuing to develop an approach that places student safety, wellbeing and inclusion at its heart.”
